Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)

United States

Coverage: Full Tuition: For the entire program. Monthly Living Stipend: Amount varies by host country cost of living. Economy Class Air Travel: Round-trip from the scholar's home country to the host university, plus a travel allowance. Health Insurance. Travel Allowance for research/thesis preparation (where applicable).

Eligibility: Be a citizen of a World Bank member developing country (see official list). Not hold dual citizenship with a developed country. Be in good health. Hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline. Have at least 3 years of recent development-related work experience after earning the bachelor's degree. Be employed in a paid, development-related position at the time of application. Gain unconditional admission to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master's programs before applying for the scholarship.

This program provides scholarships to citizens of developing World Bank member countries to pursue development-related master's degrees at selected universities around the world. The goal is to create a network of change-makers who can contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries upon their return.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMD)

United Kingdom

Coverage: Contribution to Participation Costs: Covers tuition, registration, and insurance fees. Monthly Living Allowance: Approximately €1,400 per month for the entire duration of the study period (24 months max). Contribution to Travel and Installation Costs: Travel: €1,000-€3,000 per year based on the scholar's location. Installation: A one-time €1,000 fee.

Eligibility: Must hold a first higher education degree (Bachelor's level) or be in the final year and graduate before the master's start. Students from any country in the world may apply. Must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies) in any of the Erasmus+ "Program Countries" for more than 12 months in the last 5 years (for full scholarship eligibility). Must meet the specific academic and language requirements of the chosen EMJMD program (each has its own criteria).

Deadline: November 17, 2026

An EU-funded, prestigious, integrated international study programme. Students study at a consortium of at least three higher education institutions in different European (and sometimes partner) countries, earning either a joint degree or multiple degrees. The program emphasizes academic excellence, cultural immersion, and network building.
