University Overview

Its origins trace back to 1930 as Constantine Technical College. It became Teesside Polytechnic in 1969 and was granted university status in 1992 under the UK's Further and Higher Education Act, initially as the University of Teesside. A £280 million campus redevelopment in the 2000s transformed its facilities. It was renamed Teesside University in 2009. The university has gained an international reputation for its animation and games courses, winning a Queen's Anniversary Prize for its work in computer animation and digital visual effects.
