University Overview

Originally founded in 1861 as the Hull School of Art, it later became the University of Humberside in 1992 and then the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside in 1996. A pivotal moment was the 2001 relocation of its main campus to the Brayford Pool area in Lincoln, sparking significant urban regeneration. It was granted the title University of Lincoln in 2002. The university has grown rapidly, establishing the Lincoln Institute for Agri-Food Technology and a medical school developed in partnership with the University of Nottingham.
