University Overview

Founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute, it initially offered technical and vocational education. It was renamed The City University in 1966 when it received its Royal Charter. In 2016, it fully integrated into the University of London as a constituent college, adopting its current name. A landmark moment was the integration of Cass Business School in 2002 (now Bayes Business School). In 2022, St George's, University of London merged its medical and health sciences courses with City, significantly expanding its health faculty. Its history is defined by adapting to the needs of the capital's economy.
