University Overview

The university's roots date back to 1891 with the founding of the School of Science and Art in High Wycombe. It evolved through several forms, including the High Wycombe College of Technology and Art and later the Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education. It became a university college in 1999 and was granted full university title as Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College. It adopted its current name, Buckinghamshire New University, in 2007 to reflect a renewed, modern identity. Its history is strongly tied to providing vocational education for the local and regional economy.
