Saint Louis University-Madrid (SLU-Madrid) is the American University in Spain, established as a study abroad program in the 1960s that has evolved into a recognized center of international education in Spain. It is the largest U.S. campus in Spain, offering students amenities similar to those found on U.S. college campuses while being immersed in the history and culture of Spain. Today, SLU-Madrid educates students from around the world, providing four-year U.S. undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, and credits for study abroad students at their home institutions. The campus is located near the Ciudad Universitaria area and is easily accessible by Madrid's Metro system or several bus lines. SLU-Madrid features a diverse student body that speaks around 90 languages and represents the United States, Spain, and 75 other countries. With a 12:1 student-faculty ratio and small class sizes, faculty and staff know students by name. Twenty-two undergraduate majors and two master's degrees can be completed entirely in Madrid, and students can also choose to start one of more than 40 undergraduate degrees at SLU-Madrid and finish their studies at SLU's St. Louis campus.
