Canadian University Dubai was established in 2006 as the first licensed Canadian university outside of Canada. From its founding, CUD has focused on providing a Canadian-inspired curriculum with strong international credentials and transfer pathways to Canada. The university has grown significantly over its nearly two decades of operation, expanding its program offerings across multiple faculties. In 2025, the university welcomed Karim Chelli as President and Vice-Chancellor. Throughout its history, CUD has developed professional accreditations for its programs, including BBA in Accounting & Finance with ACCA, CIMA, and ICAEW, and BBA in Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
